Muffy Patterson, 2017
Metro Baltimore DC:
Sarah Coats, joined our Mai Tai’s & Monet Ohana in 2015. She is our key Representative/Instructor for the Virginia area. As an Army Brat who grew up in Europe most of her life, married (although she vowed never to) to an Army soldier with a son, daughter, and rescue dog from Hawai’i. Sarah has no ‘home’ per say as she considers herself a ‘3rd Culture Kid.’ Sarah studied Art her entire life & loves to draw, paint, sculpt & anything DIY. She now resides in the Northern Virginia area, closer to family and many friends from her overseas years. She has firsthand experience teaching and working with special needs individuals as her younger brother (now an adult) is severely autistic. She is a goofy ginger who loves to laugh and find the beauty in life.
Muffy Patterson, A native of the beautiful Great Lakes State Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University. She took her business and networking opportunities where the wind would blow, becoming an LPGA Golf Professional in southern California, and in short-order, she quickly saw other avenues to spread her wings, starting her own Public Relations and Development firm. After 16 glorious years in LA, Muffy met her soon-to-be husband…a military man, and life would quickly change. Muffy has developed a unique background and is all about the “side hustle” way of keeping busy. She is a baker who has been seen on the Food Network, freelances for ESPN, and now lends her energy to the aloha of Mai Tais and Monet, as one of their instructors launching the “Colorado Collection” of MT&M throughout the Rocky Mountain state.
Lauren Farmer Raised in Louisiana, I moved to the Florida panhandle for college. I have a bachelor’s in Fine Arts/Education from University of West Florida. Married with 2 teens, we recently moved outside the Pensacola area to the small town of Milton. I am an Elementary Art teacher and make my own art on the side. I also am teaching myself woodworking. Teaching all ages is my passion. I can’t wait to share what I know and love about art with others.
Whitney Sparling started her journey with Mai Tais and Monet in 2013 as one of the original artists on Oahu. She spent 4 wonderful years enjoying the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, and instructing painting classes all over the island. Whitney and her husband moved back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the summer of 2017 to start the next chapter of their adventure. While she misses Hawaii terribly, she has always loved the beauty and fresh, crisp air of Washington state. She is so excited for the opportunity to bring MT&M to everyone in her hometown and all of Snohomish County. She is loving all of the new possibilities and the endless inspiration for new PNW themed and popular paintings! Full time nanny to twins by day, painting instructor extraordinaire by night, Whitney is truly living her best life. When not painting, Whitney enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs. She loves camping, reading, kayaking, Harry Potter, and anything involving an adventure in the great outdoors!
